Center of Excellence
This program offers committed, focused, hard working ETFC players an opportunity to work on individual technical development. The focus of the ETFC Center for Excellence will be on individual technical development. It will allow players to work with different coaches, and players from different age groups exposing them different voices and new friends. Each seasonal phase will add a different focus such as Finishing, Defending, Combination Play, Dribbling and Attacking moves. Each seasonal phase (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter) will have 6 sessions on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. The sessions will be 90 minutes long.
The Center of Excellence will be directed by Bryn Dennehy. He will add coaches as needed and bring in guest coaches from time to time.
Cost of the Program: Each phase will cost $120 for the 6 sessions. Individual sessions will cost $30 and have to be registered directly with the Director.

Shooting, ball striking technique, shooting from range, scoring off crosses, finishing 1v1 against keeper. In this phase we will also provide specific Goalkeeper training. They will work on distribution, shot blocking, crosses, 1v1 situations, etc.). This phase will be all about finishing.
Individual and group defending. The coaches will focus on individual defensive footwork (poke tackle, block tackle, separation tackle, slide tackle), winning 50-50 balls, small group defensive principles (pressure, cover, balance, compactness), counter-attacking/attacking transitions after winning the ball.
Focus will be almost exclusively on individual technical components of passing and receiving with various surfaces of the feet. Different passing techniques such as driving, chipping, bending w/inside and outside of the foot. Controlling the ball out of the air. We will introduce small group passing combinations. We will work on moving and receiving the ball, passing and receiving the ball while moving. Give and go’s, in-back-through’s, overlaps, underlaps, third person runs.
The primary emphasis will be ball mastery. Coerver techniques, escape moves, attacking moves, changing pace and direction with the ball, shielding the ball. This phase will be indoor. All of these ball mastery skills will be integrated into the game.
