Program Calendar

2024 Summer & Fall Program

  • During the summer months, we will train twice a week with two breaks, one in July and one mid-August.
  • During the fall, we will play in the OYSA Central Valley league which reaches from Woodburn to Eugene.
  • The season will end in late October/early November.

Program Objectives

The Discovery program is designed to be a pathway to our Competitive and Premier teams if players desire to play in our year round programs. The program also serves children who want to play soccer in a more competitive setting but do not want to commit to play soccer year round.

EMFC coaches will use the EMFC player centered curriculum to train players and teams in a fun but challenging environment. Coaches will challenge each player to achieve their playing goals and discover their potential. Through a fun atmosphere coaches will work with each player to improve their individual strengths and help them become a positive contributor to their team.

Game tactics, technical skills, decision making, training intensity, commitment, and fitness will be implemented to train players how to compete at a high level to transition to the full year programs.
The Discovery Program intention is to provide a positive, fun, challenging soccer experience for all players.

Team Formation

There will be a Discovery Program team formation in May. Players will be selected in their birth year in accordance with USSF. However, we will combine age groups as needed to allow for more teams to be created and to find the right place for more players to play within our club.

Discovery Program Director

Aden Farina-Henry will direct the Discovery Program. Aden is also directing our Little Metros program and has a lot of experience with the younger age groups. Aden brings lots of energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the Discovery program. He is excited to help new players in the club learn more about the game and develop along our EMFC curriculum.
